Author Webstar Elijah has been released on a cash bail of Sh50,000 after appearing in court on charges of impersonating Charlene Ruto, daughter of President William Ruto. The charges stem from a book he authored, in which he allegedly posed as Charlene.
During his appearance in court, Elijah pleaded not guilty to the impersonation charge. The prosecution accused him of misrepresenting himself as Charlene Ruto in order to give credibility to the publication, misleading readers and potentially damaging the reputation of the president’s daughter.
The court scheduled the mention of the case for June 17, 2025, as investigations continue and both parties prepare for the next steps in the legal proceedings.
