Nakuru politician Hon. John Mututho has instructed his lawyer to take legal action against telecommunication giants Safaricom, WhatsApp, Google and others for defamation.
The politician alleges that they ‘maliciously originated rumors of a confidential transaction’ which he believes was meant to damage his repute.
Through lawyers Kithi and Company Advocates he also wants MPesa and Nakuru popular blogger Elijah Kinyanjui to be enjoined in the case. Others are Alice Muchiri, Steve Gitukia, Detective Sue and Paul Ndirangu.
He furnished the lawyers copies of the audio and screen shots of the WhatsApp images.
Hon. Mututho says “I believe it was calculated, deliberate, malicious and many injuries…have brought my person to public ridicule and unrepairably hurt my repute.”
Hon. John Mututho ran for the Nakuru County Gubernatorial position as an Independent candidate but lost to Jubilee’s Lee Kinyanjui.
