Blogger Daniel Nganga, who runs dailybrief.or.ke, was arrested yesterday in Roysambu and transported to Karatina in Nyeri County.
Nganga wrote an article on 27th October 2016 announcing the death of Nyeri Governor Nderitu Gachagua which turned out to be untrue. It is believed that this is the reason why he was arrested.
Nganga was released last night on a cash bail and will appear in court tomorrow to answer to unspecified charges.
The article by Nganga has since been pulled down.
